What Funcom announced
On October 27, 2026 Funcom announced that Conan Exiles Enhanced is coming to PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027. Enhanced arrived on Steam as a free update in May 2026, and the console version follows what Funcom calls strong demand from the console community. Existing owners get a free upgrade from PlayStation 4 to PlayStation 5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S. The release date and further details will come later; for now the window is simply "early 2027".
The pitch is the familiar one from the PC launch: better environments, characters, lighting and effects, a redesigned UI, performance and quality-of-life work, and the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah brought together into one more seamless world (Siptah itself remains a separate purchase). Funcom's CEO Scott Junior framed it around the game's approaching tenth anniversary and the hope of supporting it for another ten years. The same post confirmed Part Three of the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story for November 10, which the October community update clarified is for PC players first.
Enhanced and Legacy become two games
On consoles, Enhanced is its own game, separate from what will be called Conan Exiles Legacy. If you own Conan Exiles on PlayStation or Xbox, you get Enhanced automatically for free, and anyone buying either version in the future gets both. Purchases carry over: Crom Coins, Bazaar items, DLC and Twitch Drops all appear in Enhanced.
The cost of that split lands on Legacy. Once Enhanced releases, Legacy keeps receiving fixes for critical bugs but no major content, loses the Bazaar and loses access to official servers. Crom Coins stop working in Legacy at that point, so Funcom recommends spending them first if you plan to stay. Players who stay on Legacy can still play single-player or on a private server.
Cross-play: soon after launch, not at launch
The headline promise is full cross-play for Conan Exiles Enhanced. The FAQ is precise about the timing: cross-play is "coming to Conan Exiles Enhanced, soon after launch". So the first weeks on PS5 and Xbox will be platform by platform, and cross-play follows as a separate step.
What Funcom has not spelled out yet is how cross-play maps onto server types, and that is the question every PC server owner will ask: will a privately run Enhanced server on PC accept PlayStation and Xbox players once cross-play lands, or will cross-play cover only Funcom's official servers? The announcement does not say. Funcom repeats several times that more information for players and private server hosts will come closer to release, which is the honest answer for now. Plan for both outcomes and do not promise console friends a seat on your PC server yet.
Official servers and the Siptah merge
For official servers the FAQ draws a clear line:
- Official Exiled Lands servers transition from Legacy to Enhanced. Characters, followers and bases carry forward in the update. Once the switch happens, Legacy players can no longer reach official servers without moving to Enhanced.
- Isle of Siptah servers merge with Exiled Lands servers, as they did when Enhanced launched on Steam. Integrating the two maps required changing the island's coordinates, so existing bases on the Isle of Siptah cannot be preserved.
That second point is the one that will hurt. Siptah communities on console get the same news PC Siptah players got in May: the island lives on as part of the combined world, the bases on it do not. If your console clan spent years on a Siptah fortress, screenshots are the only thing that survives.
Private servers and single-player saves
Single-player saves carry over to Enhanced but not back: once a save is loaded in Enhanced it can no longer be opened in Legacy, and Funcom warns that if console players cannot back up their save files, the change is permanent. On PC that is a copy of a folder; on console it is a one-way door, so think before opening an old world in the new game.
For private server hosts, Funcom promises guidance "closer to release" on how to prepare. Reading the FAQ alongside how the PC launch went, the safe assumptions are: Siptah bases will not migrate, a Legacy world converted to Enhanced will not convert back, and a server that wants console players will need to follow whatever cross-play rules Funcom publishes. Until those rules exist, a console community that relies on a private server should keep its Legacy setup running and treat Enhanced as a separate project to test.
How we got here
- May 2026: Conan Exiles Enhanced replaces the old version on Steam as a free update, merging the Exiled Lands and the Isle of Siptah into one world.
- September 15, 2026: update 2.2.0 moves Enhanced to Iris networking.
- October 6, 2026: The Legacy of the Giant-Kings: Part Two goes live, followed by hotfix 3.0.1 on October 8 for the most impactful issues it introduced.
- October 27, 2026: the console announcement: Enhanced on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S in early 2027, free for existing owners, cross-play soon after launch.
- November 10, 2026: Part Three of the story arc, for PC players first.
- Early 2027: Enhanced on consoles, date to be announced.
The questions Funcom still has to answer
The FAQ answers more than most console announcements do, but several server questions are explicitly left for "closer to release":
- Cross-play and private servers. Will cross-play cover community-run servers, and on which platforms can those servers be hosted?
- Mods and mixed lobbies. PC servers often run mods that consoles cannot load. How cross-play treats a modded PC server is not addressed yet.
- Preparing a private Legacy server. Funcom promises guidance for private server hosts on the Siptah merge and the move to Enhanced, but not the timing.
- Console save backups. The warning that a one-way conversion becomes permanent without a backup suggests Funcom knows some console players cannot back up at all.
Until those answers land, the honest plan for a console community is to enjoy Legacy, screenshot the Siptah bases, and wait for the details before committing a private server to Enhanced.
What it means for PC server owners today
Nothing changes on PC this month apart from content: Part Three of the Legacy of the Giant-Kings arrives on November 10, and the dedicated server will need the matching update the moment players get it. The bigger shift is what cross-play could mean later. If it extends to private servers, a PC-hosted Enhanced server could become a meeting point for players on all three platforms, which raises the stakes on everything that already matters on PC: patch day discipline, mod compatibility and server memory.
On that last point, our October look at Enhanced servers five months on found an empty fresh world sitting around 8.8 GB of RAM soon after start, Iris networking cutting reported lag roughly in half, and a native Linux server on the public branch of Steam app 443030. Console cross-play would not change those numbers, but more players per server would make them bite sooner.

FAQ
- When is Conan Exiles Enhanced coming to PS5 and Xbox?
- In early 2027. Funcom announced the console version on October 27, 2026 and will share the exact release date later.
- Is Conan Exiles Enhanced free on PS5 and Xbox?
- Yes, for existing owners. Owners of Conan Exiles on PlayStation and Xbox get Enhanced as a free upgrade from PS4 to PS5 and from Xbox One to Xbox Series X|S, and new buyers of either version get both.
- Will Conan Exiles Enhanced have cross-play?
- Yes, but not on day one. Funcom says full cross-play is coming to Conan Exiles Enhanced soon after launch. It has not yet said how cross-play will work on private servers.
- What happens to Isle of Siptah bases in Conan Exiles Enhanced?
- They cannot be preserved. The island was merged into the Exiled Lands with new coordinates, so Siptah servers merge with Exiled Lands servers and the bases on the island are lost.
- Can I keep playing Conan Exiles Legacy on console?
- Yes, in single-player or on a private server. Legacy gets fixes for critical bugs only, loses the Bazaar and loses access to official servers once Enhanced releases.
